Competition Fest FAQ’s

MONTHLY COMPETITION CELEBRATION

Trailblazers can enjoy the exciting and challenging GEEKOTERRE COMPETITION FEST. The chance to win COOL PRIZES –such as Laptop Computers – high school grade.

WHO CAN COMPETE IN THE COMPETITION FEST?

  • All registered Geekoterre Trailblazers are eligible to enter the Competition Fest.
  • Normal Club Rules and Terms of Use apply
  • To participate, ensure you have created a Trailblazer Account, log in and complete as many projects as you can.

HOW DO I EARN COMPETITION POINTS?

  • Completing any of the Projects in any of the 7 Categories in the Trailblazer Club, and uploading a photo, or under 1 minute video of the completed project will earn points
  • Bonus points can be earned by answering the questions at the bottom of a project
  • A human facilitator will approve the upload and automatically award points to your Trailblazer account
  • Any unsuitable material, or material not related to that particular project will be rejected
  • A Trailblazer will be notified of any rejected upload
  • Points earned will be posted on the Trailblazer’s Home Page
  • MY ACCOUNT will show all projects a Trailblazer has completed
  • A Project can only be completed once to earn points
  • Upload a photo, or short video of friends enjoying a Project with the Trailblazer and earn DOUBLE POINTS
  • Cut-off date for the Monthly Competition is the last Friday of each month, at 5.00 p.m. (Australian EST)
  • A minimum of 2,000 points must be earned each month to be eligible, but be WARNED – points are easy to earn!

WHICH PROJECTS EARN POINTS FOR THE COMPETITION FEST?

  • All Projects from any category in the Club earns points
  • Projects in the Club vary in degree of difficulty, using easy-to-obtain, safe and inexpensive materials, as you explore new ideas
  • The amount of points you can earn is clearly marked on each project, according to the degree of difficulty
  • Some projects may require a small amount of adult supervision.

WHO WINS THE MONTHLY PRIZES?

  • The Top point-earning Trailblazers earn the prizes (conditions apply)
  • Note: The Top Trailblazers are all high achievers gaining self-esteem and leadership skills
  • A Trailblazer must earn over 2,000 points in a month to be eligible to be named one of the Top Trailblazers
  • This is not difficult to do, as the medium rated projects earn 250+ points per project
  • Take a photo of your friends enjoying a project with you, you earn DOUBLE POINTS for that project
  • Email us when you get a friend to join the Club and we will add 250 points to your account
  • Where a Trailblazer stands on the Points Ladder is clearly displayed on a Trailblazer’s Home Page
  • The monthly points-total rolls back to ZERO at the cut-off point of 5.00 p.m. AEST, on the last Friday of the month
  • Late entries will be accepted, but the points will be added into the following month’s total
  • The prizes cannot be exchanged for money.

WHO ARE SUPER TRAILBLAZERS?

  • All points earned in the monthly competitions, go towards becoming one of the Super Trailblazers
  • Super Trailblazers are the ones who earn the most points over the three months of the Competition Fest
  • A Trailblazer must earn 4,000 points to be eligible to be named on of the Super Trailblazers
  • This is not difficult to do, as well as being COOL FUN
  • Take a photo of your friends enjoying a project with you, you earn DOUBLE POINTS for a project
  • The names of the Top Super Trailblazers will be displayed on the Trailblazer’s Home Page
  • Where a Trailblazer stands on the Points Ladder for the Super Trailblazers, will also be displayed on the Trailblazer’s Home Page
  • The Top Super Trailblazers will win special Super Prizes such as a high school grade lap-top computer (conditions apply)
  • The prizes cannot be exchanged for money.

WHAT ARE TRAILBLAZER RANKS?

  • All points earned in the Competition Fest go towards a member’s rank
  • A Recruit Rank Certificate is awarded to everyone who registers as a Trailblazer
  • Points earned during the Competition Fest help a Trailblazer to move up through the Ranks
  • There are 5 Ranks in the Club and 5 levels to each Rank
  • Starting as a Recruit, Trailblazer’s can become the first-ever Cadet, Flight Director, Commander or Controller
  • You can quickly earn your way to becoming a Commander or Controller with special privileges.
